Today marks one year since the release of the Productivity Commission’s (PC) review into workplace relations, yet the Turnbull Government still has not provided its response.
This is a lazy and incompetent government that has failed to respond to the review that they themselves commissioned.
On December 21, 2015, the Minister for Employment tabled the review and said:
“…we will carefully consider the final report and its recommendations, and if there is a good case for sensible and fair changes to the workplace relations framework, these will be clearly outlined and taken to the next election to seek a mandate from the Australian people.”
Senator Cash, Press Release, December 21, 2015.
No changes arising from the PC’s report were taken to the Australian public prior to the election.
As such the Government has absolutely no mandate for introducing changes to Australia’s Fair Work system. Any changes will be a broken promise, something this Government knows more than a thing or two about.
They were too scared to take any proposed changes, such as their plan to slash penalty rates, to the Australian people.
Malcolm Turnbull doesn't care about Australian workers or workplace reform, he only cares about political point scoring.
Australians don’t need the PC to tell them that the mission of the Liberal Party is to undermine their wages and working conditions.
Only Labor can be trusted with the pay, rights and conditions of working Australians.
