TURNBULL MUST RULE OUT WORKCHOICES STYLE WASTE OF MONEY

Malcolm Turnbull must immediately rule out using taxpayer’s money to fund a Workchoices style advertising campaign to sell the horrible decision to slash penalty rates, a decision which the Prime Minister enthusiastically “supports”.

The irony of asking those very people who will be up to $77 per week worse off as a result of Malcolm Turnbull’s support to fund a campaign of misinformation about the unproven employment benefits of slashing wages should not be lost on anyone.

Reports that Malcolm Turnbull’s Cabinet ministers are advocating spending taxpayer’s money to publicly sell penalty rates cuts is an absolute disgrace.

The last time we saw such a disgraceful, callous waste of money was when the Howard Government used taxpayer’s money to fund the Workchoices advertising campaign.

While Malcolm Turnbull supports massive cuts to penalty rates from his ivory towers in Sydney and Canberra, Labor will be out in the regions, in the townships, in the communities of Australia, with our campaign – no cuts to penalty rates.
