TWO CONSECUTIVE MONTHS OF NEGATIVE GROWTH IN MANUFACTURING

The Australian Industry Group Performance of Manufacturing Index (PMI) for December has shown another month of negative growth in the Australian manufacturing sector.
 
For the first time since 2015 the manufacturing sector has contracted two months in a row.
 
We cannot let this continue. Australia has always been a nation that makes things.
 
We need a Government that will support that.
 
The Morrison Government has been talking up manufacturing while presiding over its decline.
 
The Morrison Government must do more to support the Australian manufacturing sector.
 
They need to come up with a genuine plan to get the economy moving again.
